Meals
Food that still tastes like your food.
Cooking together, or for you, to your taste and your recipes.
Appetite is one of the first things to go when someone is eating alone, and delivered meals rarely fix it. The problem is usually not nutrition. It is that the food stopped being theirs.
A carer who cooks with you, week after week, learns the recipes. How much garlic actually means. Which pot. Whether the rice gets rinsed. If your food comes from a kitchen your family carried across the world, this is the difference between eating and eating well.
Where we can match a carer who cooks the food you grew up with, we do. That sits inside the same language and cultural matching that runs through every service.
The same carer who cooks with you learns exactly how you like it. The right amount of salt, the pan you always use, the way your mother made it.
What this actually includes
- Meal preparation and cooking together
- Planning meals around your preferences, culture and diet
- Help with shopping for ingredients
- Support to keep enjoying food, not just consuming it
People call us when
- Meals have quietly become toast, or nothing
- Cooking has become unsafe, particularly around the stove
- A dietary change after a hospital stay is hard to keep up with
- The food that matters to you is not the food a delivery service sends
Not sure if this is the right support?
Talk it through with a real person. No obligation, and we call back within two business hours.
Common questions
- Can a carer cook food from my culture?
- Often yes, and where we can match a carer who already cooks it, we do. Where we cannot, carers learn your recipes from you, which most people end up preferring anyway.
- What about a special diet?
- Tell us what has been recommended and we will work to it. We follow the advice you have been given rather than giving dietary advice ourselves, and for anything clinical we will point you back to your GP or dietitian.
